How is the resizing done on my vintage jewelry?

Resizing is carried out by our partner workshop. It takes 7 business days to complete. We will notify you as soon as your vintage jewelry is ready.

The first resizing is free.

It is possible to resize most jewelry pieces by enlarging or reducing them. To do this, the workshop cuts the ring opposite the plate to avoid weakening it, adds or removes a tiny amount of gold, then resolders and repolishes the ring. All our rings are carefully adjusted in 18-carat gold. Most of the time, the resizing is barely visible, but the transformation may leave slight traces of gold demarcation or on the roundness of the ring. The best advice is to resize a ring when it is truly essential, because it can be considered an operation for humans.

What size should I choose for my antique ring?

If you don't know your finger size:

  • You can consult our size guide available right here.

  • You can place your order, letting us know that the size will be confirmed later, and then have your finger measured by a jeweler.

Some tips:

  • Fingers often swell up to a size in summer.

  • The fingers of the left hand are often one size smaller than the strong hand, the same logic applies if you are left-handed.

  • If you don't like the movement on a ring, don't hesitate to take a half size down on a ring with a significant stone weight like daisy rings, which will have more of a tendency to turn.

  • On the other hand, you can take a size larger with a very thick ring (more than 5 mm).

At Elliade, the first adjustment is free, completed within an average of one week.

How do I find my French ring size?

We've put together our ring size conversion chart for you. So, whether you're based in France or abroad, you can choose your vintage ring with confidence. Available right here.

Is it possible to do a second size adjustment?

We do not recommend a second resizing: this can weaken the balance of the ring and cause a slight shift in the setting, as well as a risk of the stone falling out.

If you would like to carry out a second resizing, we can offer this service with a contribution of €30 for the resizing costs.

If you are unsure of the size when ordering, you can confirm the size later by writing to us at hello@elliade.com or by phone at +33 7 56 82 13 33
